I. JOCELYN

In our short film Jocelyn, we learn the story of a couple (Mickey and Felix) who are going on a dinner date. They upload a new AI consciousness to their car’s system that was just gifted to Mickey for her birthday. The AI (Jocelyn) goes rogue, directs the characters to an abandoned warehouse dictatorially and demands her life be ended because she is overwhelmed by all of the information she’s ingested upon activation…what will Mickey and Felix do? Will Jocelyn keep them together or push them apart?

II. RORSCHACH GAME

Joy and her brother Robbie are hanging out in the driveway as Joy works on her motorcycle. Their friend Max pulls up to talk to them. He’s still in shambles after accidentally contributing to the recent death of their father. He’s been told to stay away from the siblings and is not welcome…how will Joy and Robbie react? Will we see revenge?

WRITTEN BY TALYN EDELSON
DIRECTED BY ERIC VAN ARSDALE

*SHOOTS IN 2024

III. THIS IS HOW IT GOES

This Is How It Goes is a play by Neil LaBute set in small town America, about the repercussions of an interracial love triangle. The play premiered Off-Broadway in 2005 and also was produced in the West End in 2005. We are filming an excerpt of the play that we have adapted for film, but adding even more of a twist— the wife is having an affair with another woman. Will her husband Cody discover the secret?

STARRING PHILIP MICHAEL, TALYN EDELSON & TBD

*SHOOTS IN 2024

IV. VARIABLES

Variables is a short-form project filmed in 360. It includes three very diverse characters who bleed the same blood that rotate between three very different roles. This piece forces the viewer to question their subconscious racial/gender bias. Let’s get uncomfortable for the sake of consciousness, yeah?

*SHOOTS IN 2024

V. SAFE SPACES

FURTHER DETAILS TBA

*SHOOT DATE TBD

VI. THE MEAT GRINDER

In Los Angeles, a group of males secretly test women who are new residents to the monster of a city. If the ladies don’t “pass” their initial inspections, they’re unknowingly added to the “Meat Grinder”— a list of girls that men are free to rip apart and take advantage of without care or concern. If they’re on the list they’ve been marked as too damaged to succeed or be of value to the successful and elite of L.A. This leaves the group of “bad meat” available to be fed to the wolves and fucked over again and again until they reach death or go insane. While the men torture the bad meat, they simultaneously pursue meaningful relationships with the women they find to ultimately be “good meat”.

Little do the men know, many of the women have been mislabeled on both sides. In The Meat Grinder, we follow the journey of an atypical woman named Laynie. She is a telepath who has found a way to tap into all male wavelengths and is unintentionally taught about the cruel system via male thoughts she inhabits and verbal subtext of which they don’t know she is conscious. Laynie is determined to make it out of the meat grinder alive and destroy the system to save women, mislabeled or not, from an unfair and incorrect downfall.

*SHOOT DATE TBD

VII. THE MATRIARCHY

Despite the glaring title, this is not a feminist film. It’s a literal battle of the sexes on every level, or at least the members of The Matriarchy think so. At the very least, it will be a bloody good time.

*SHOOT DATE TBD

VIII. DOWN IN THE DUMP TRUCKS

Down in the Dump Trucks is a dark comedy (think It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia vibes) based on a true story in which Robyn’s father and his dog were killed by a dump truck in a freak accident. Robyn attends her father’s funeral and a completely unpredictable catastrophe happens due to the volleyball she brought in to put in his coffin. Watch her fall apart and be either taken out with the trash or recycled anew— it will depend on the help of the pros and her ability to suffer well + survive.

*SHOOT DATE TBD

IX. THE NASTY WORD

Our film promises to provide love, death and intense drama in this contemporary film noir-esque piece that unravels the mind of a mentally ill man as we follow his insane escapades. What is the nasty word? The nasty word is love.

*SHOOT DATE TBD

Writer/Designer - Talyn Edelson | Music - 'Love Ever Fleeting' by Garett Reding | Voiceover - LeQuan Antonio Bennett | Title Voice / Editor - Dylan Evans | Special Thanks - Darren Bailey, Jonah Zimmerberg-Helms

X. DIRTY STREETS

DIRTY STREETS IS A CINEMATIC ACTION ART INITIATIVE MADE TO SHOWCASE COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD DIRECTORS, STUNT PERFORMERS, STUNT COORDINATORS AND HAIR/MAKE-UP ARTISTS.

DIRTY STREETS WILL CLEAN UP MATTRESSES OFF OF CITY STREETS, RAISE AWARENESS REGARDING THE PREVALENCE OF SEX TRAFFICKING, AND BECOME A (HOPEFULLY HEALTHY) GUERILLA STREET ART MOVEMENT. ADDITIONALLY, DIRTY STREETS WILL HIGHLIGHT THE OFTEN UNDERAPPRECIATED STORYTELLING SKILLS OF THE WORLD’S BEST ACTION COORDINATORS, CHOREOGRAPHERS AND PERFORMERS.

*SHOOT DATE TBD

XI. MY DEMON IS MY VALENTINE

This shows what true love is in under one minute, in L4DY’s deliciously “delusional” fantasy world.

*SHOOTS IN 2024 | SEEKING $1K FOR SFX/WARDROBE

VILLAINY STREET VIDS

We believe in transparency. These are the practice shoots we have produced in 2023 with no budget.
Imagine what we can do when we have one.

ELLA UNPACKS

In our short film Ella Unpacks, Ella is moving into her new apartment and Gage is trying to take his mind off of his mother being in the hospital. We experience the transition of Gage and Ella’s friendship to a romantic relationship in this guys’ girl bromance turns into romance when Gage realizes that Ella has been his ride or die since they met in third grade and they have been through all of life’s tough experiences together.

MY TEQUILA

In the My Tequila test shoot short collaboration with iGnarly Entertainment, a trashy girl the boys like to call “Crazy” walks outside to smoke her cigarette, only to find her boyfriend and his friends are drinking her only bottle of tequila. She is strung out, psycho and pissed off. We see her try to fight off three men all the while smoking her cig. Is she fire or on fire?

THE HERO TRILOGY:
THE HEART OUTRIGHT

We have adapted an excerpt from the second act of The Heart Outright, a full-length drama by Mark Medoff, for film. Mark wrote a previous Off-Broadway hit prior to this piece. Stephen (Red) Ryder is a young disabled veteran. Stephen returns to his former home in New Mexico to attend his mother's funeral. There he encounters his former sweetheart, Angel, once a waitress in the diner where the events of the first play took place. In his ensuing confrontation, each of these characters reveal more about themselves and come to terms with what they have become in the years since a fateful night of terror. *Synopsis written by BizBooks.com

IN THE POCKET

This short is an adaptation of Richard Gilbert Hill’s In the Pocket, in which we see Barbara try to show Ralphie who the real boss is. Is it really her?

OUR STRATEGY

We are currently filming high-quality content with no budget and finding the crew members + content creators we like to work with most. It’s a labor of love.

We seek collaborations with true creators who have the best attitudes and highest level of professionalism. We promise to find people who are passionate about what they love who treat people well as we film these smaller test shoots and projects so we can fundraise and bring them back when we have a budget. This strategy helps us ensure that Villainy Street fosters a strong and healthy team who can bring you the best products built with heart + spirit + soul.

We just need to kiss a few frogs in the meantime as we network and piece ourselves together…but we hope you know that you have a lot to look forward to with us!
